On October 13, Her RL chair Angela Powers will be joining a group of people aiming to climb Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, in just 5 days instead of the recommended nine. More than 70 per cent fail to do it. But failure isn't an option.
That's because this climb is for the Steve Prescott Foundation, set up by the former Hull and St Helens star who died after battling a cancer that he was told might kill him after six months. He went on to live for five more years, raising about £500,000 for good causes along the way. Steve always wanted to climb this mountain but never got the chance. Now this team - led by Adrian Cunliffe and featuring stars such as Adrian Morley, Lee Briers, Alan Hunte and Barrie McDermott, as well as the actor Matt Lewis - is going to take these steps for him and in his memory. |
