We set off from St Helens and our first destination of the year is Achill Island, County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland. Home to spectacular mountains over 2200ft, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe and beautiful beaches, it is well worth a visit.

Taking a north-westerly route we have reached Reykjvik, Capital city of Iceland. It's home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history.

Due west and we arrive at Nuuk, the relatively small Capital City of Greenland. With a population of approximately 18,000, it will be one of the smallest capitals we will visit on our travels.

This week we reach the small Inuit settlement of Nain, in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Fishing is the main industry in Nain. Traditional hunting and trapping activities continue through the winter months after the fishing season has ended.
