Beccy Barr of BBC North West Tonight presented a special feature about Steve Prescott which aired tonight, 30th June 2016.

Thanks to Steve Prescott's act of bravery pseudomyxoma sufferers are now surviving. By undergoing pioneering surgery at the Churchill Hosptial in Oxford other people are now living and tell of their thanks.

Professor Peter Friend of the University of Oxford said of Steve, " He wasn't just the first patient, he was the catalyst. He made it happen. He was a man who didn't take no for an answer, in the best sense of it. And that's been a tremendous inspiration for us. Its been a tremendous inspiration to other patient, and I think its been an inspiration and an example for doctors who look after patients with this condition. We are looking at a really viable treatment for patients for whom there was no good option."

Adam Alderson aged 37 is a survivor of a similar operation to Steve and says "If it wasn't for Steve I wouldn't be here today".Adam now eats and drinks normally, is back at work and planning his wedding.

The legacy of a man who fought so hard during his life will be felt long after his death.

To continue Steve's phenomenal legacy the Steve Prescott Foundation needs the support of the community! You don't have to climb mountains or break world records.
