Former Saints and GB Rugby League captain,Paul Sculthorpe MBE and Nick Wilkinson have just completed an epic challenge and raised an amazing £20,000 in aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation. Scully and Nick completed the six day Marathon des Sables by completing 6 marathons covering 152 miles in scorching conditions of the Sahara Desert. It is considered to be the toughest footrace on earth.
Its a challenge that Steve Prescott would have relished and he would have approved of the intensity of the event. And perhaps been just a bit envious too?
They were required to be self sufficient and carry their own equipment and nutritional and medical supplies as they made their way through trecherous and testing conditions. It was a challenge that pushed their minds and bodies to the limit. Nights were spent in tents supplied by the organisers.
The SPF is extremely proud of Scully and Nick for completing the challenge and spreading the word of the Foundation and continuing the legacy of Steve Prescott.
Scully said ‘I loved every minute of it - apart from bit through the night on the long stage!!’
