The Steve Prescott Foundation are delighted to announce that footballing legend Peter Reid has graciously accepted our offer to be an ambassador for the Charity.
Peter Reid is massive Rugby League fan and said “I had no hesitation in accepting The Steve Prescott Foundation’s offer to take up an ambassador role for the SPF! I have followed Rugby League for a long time and had the utmost respect for Steve during his playing days and the way he handled himself during his illness! I look forward to taking part of some of the events planned for 2014 and supporting the SPF as much as I can!”
Peter has played and managed at highest level of football and is now a recognisable football pundit. He received 13 caps for his country and played over 500 league games in a glittering career. His management career has been diverse having managed great clubs like Manchester City, Sunderland, Leeds and more recently was the Thailand National manager.
Secretary of the SPF Martin Blondel said “Peter is one of the most famous names in football, we are honoured that he has joined the impressive list of ambassadors already assembled. He has strong links through his family with Steve and was a perfect choice to help and carry on Steve’s legacy! It shows how Steve’s name and bravery transcended sport! We are looking forward to the banter, broadening the appeal of the SPF and support those less fortunate than ourselves!”
