Eccleston Park Golf Club captains for 2017 Alison Corden and Les Hughes very kindly nominated the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) as their chosen charity. As is customary, the captains organise several fundraising events including Captains Invitational Day, the Captains Dinner, Ladies Day as well as holding a series of auctions and raffles throughout the year. Due to their amazing efforts and the generosity of members and friends a magnificent £2640 was presented to SPF Chairman Mike Denning recently. The captains also raised funds for the Tigers Club and Youth Section of the Golf Club.
Sincere thanks to Alison and Les for choosing the SPF as their nominated charity. Congratulations for raising such a magnificent amount. The hard work of everyone at the golf club is really appreciated.
The SPF is very proud of the legacy left by Steve Prescott and the inspiration he gives to people to support his chosen charities. The donations to the SPF go to support The Christie in Manchester, the Rugby League Benevolent Fund and the SPF Special Causes Fund. The SPF fund allows those hospitals, researchers and surgeons who deal in Pseudomyxoma related conditions and multi visceral transplantation to apply for grants to the Trustees of the SPF who will ensure sure that the money will have a direct and significant effect on people's lives.
Eccleston Park Golf Club was developed in 1999 on the old Rainhill Hospital Farm site. The Clubhouse was also renovated and extended in 2006 around the original farmhouse.
