Newton Cricket Club presented a £750 to the SPF at the recent GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run.
Ian Walkden who organises the Newton CC annual dinner each November said, ''The money was initially raised at the Club's Annual Dinner which was attended by 180 people and we already have a date in our diary for 2016.''
"From the funds raised at our dinner we allocated a total of £1500 to our chosen charities - The SPF and Lymphoma Cancer Research at the Christie. The SPF donation was as a result of one of Newton CC principal sponsors Maxilead Metals. Peter Clay of Maxilead Metals introduced me to Steve's wife Linzi in the summer of 2015 at an event. Peter Clay and Maxilead are strong supporters of the cricket club."
"I have recently become the person in charge of Yorkshire Bank in the Merseyside area, My principal office base is in St Helens so I am aware of the Steve Prescott Foundation charity."
Thank you so much to Newton CC for choosing the SPF as one of their nominated charities and for their fantastic fund raising efforts. We wish Newton CC every success for the coming season.
Maxilead Metals is a massive sponsor and supporter of the SPF and its always a pleasure to have the continued support of Peter Clay and his family as they highlight the work of the inspirational Steve Prescott MBE and the SPF to their contacts.
