Kevin Wright runs the Rutland Marathon

Kevin Wright plans to run the Rutland Marathon on 18th September and raise funds and awareness of the Steve Prescott Foundation. Kevin has been a serving member of the Royal Navy since 1998, specializing in Communications and Information Systems. This role has seen him deploy around the world in a variety of roles, from anti-piracy tasking to offering humanitarian aid following tropical storms and other natural disasters.

Since taking up distance running at the relatively late age of 33, he has completed 3 half marathons, and finished the London Marathon twice, with a personal best time of 4 hours and 36 minutes in 2015. In the past year he has taken part in 5 ‘mud run’ type events, varying in distance from 10km to 10 miles.

His interest in the Steve Prescott Foundation was piqued following his attendance at his first rugby league game, the England v Fiji World Cup game in Hull in 2013, where a minute’s tribute was paid to Steve. He then read One in a Million, and this inspired him to raise some money for the SPF.

Sincere thanks to Kevin for choosing the SPF in our Million Pound Year. Its fantastic to have you on board  and for you to spread the word about the inspirational Steve Prescott MBE.
