The Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) are really excited that Pagdate Tennis Club in Warrington have a unique piece of tennis memorabilia up for auction in aid of the SPF.
The tennis club held a tennis-a-thon earlier this year raising a magnificent £1200 for the SPF. As part of this celebration organiser Andy Hawley contacted Judy Murray to request her support for the event. Judy came up trumps by sending a Tennis shirt and tennis ball both signed by her son former Wimbledon champion Andy Murray. She also sent a personal note saying, ‘Signed shirt from Andy for your Steve Prescott fundraiser. Good luck. Judy x’
To maximise interest the donated items have been framed to create a very desirable and unique piece of tennis memorabilia. The item has a reserve of £500 and is sure to create a lot of interest. Andy Murray is seeded three in the US Open which starts on Monday 31st August at Flushing Meadows.
The auction starts on Friday 28th August with the conclusion of the auction on Saturday 19th September. This coincides with Great Britain’s Davis Cup World Group Semi final vs Australia in Glasgow. This date is also the Ladder finals day at Padgate Tennis Club. There will be an evening of tennis and bowls with the conclusion of the auction at 7pm.
