GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run Volunteers offer refreshments and support

The seventh St Helens 10k run sponsored by GPW Recruitment takes place on Sunday 5th March, with the 2000 runners setting off from the Totally Wicked Stadium at 0930.  The event has already reached its capacity of 2000 entrants.

This year volunteers from St Mark's Parish Church and the Centurion Centre are supporting the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run by offering spectators at the top of North Road with tea, coffee and sandwiches whilst they wait to see their loved ones tackle the steep incline.

Along with great Steve Prescott Foundation supporters Handepay, they will also man a water station that will give runners the opportunity to recharge their energy levels on the way. The water stations will be located at GPW Recruitment offices going up North Road and also outside St Marks Parish Church on the way down.

Martin Blondel of the Steve Prescott Foundation said.

"We were delighted when Paul Fillingham from St Marks Parish Church approached the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run Committee with the generous offer of support. We know that the top of North Road is a favourite place for supporters to give words of encouragement to all the runners. Now the spectators will also be catered for.   It just shows how all the community have got behind Steve's vision of promoting health and well being within the borough."

The Steve Prescott Foundation cannot organise events like the St Helens 10k without the amazing support of volunteers.
