The SPF Trustees have invited long time SPF supporters Graham Middleton and Mark Milsom to join the SPF committee and continue the fantastic networking of events and raise awareness of the SPF especially in the Yorkshire area.
Graham Middleton is a Hull FC supporter and says: 'I consider it a great honour to have been asked to join the committee of the Steve Prescott Foundation. It is a cause very close to my heart and I intend to be a fully active member of the foundation. To be able to help keep Steve's memory alive and raise funds for the supported causes excites me tremendously and I intend to explore all fundraising avenues open to me. I'll always keep Steve's mantra at the forefront of my mind.'... a challenge isn't a challenge unless it's challenging....''
Mark Milsom is a Wakefield Wildcats fan and has organised several events for the SPF including the 5k Santa Dash in Bishop Burton, Beverley. Mark also completed the The Journey of Leagues Extraordinary Gents last October. Mark commented. 'Many thanks for your invitation onto the Committee of the Steve Prescott Foundation, of which I would be delighted to accept! As you know, Rugby League and Charity are both great passions in my life, so to combine both is the ideal situation for me, and to be able to throw golf into the equation occasionally .bliss!
The respect and admiration the RL family still have for Steve makes doing anything in his name an absolute pleasure, and an honour. He has in the past, and will continue to, inspire me to get out of my comfort zone in an attempt to try and mirror his outstanding personal achievements, and to take part in the challenges either alone, or alongside such inspirational people and sporting heroes of my own, has given me a totally different outlook on life. To be able to do this for people that are so appreciative of your efforts certainly makes taking part so worthwhile and enjoyable. Thank you for accepting me as part of the SPF family!'
We are also delighted to welcome Callum Hesketh to the committee as social media correspondent. Callum has supported the SPF for many years and we welcome his support in promoting and networking the SPF. Callum is also Press and Communications Officer at Thatto Heath ARLFC. Callum says. 'As I have been affected by the loss of someone to cancer and as a keen RL supporter, I was touched by Steve’s story on a personal level. My late father was a fond follower of Precky. I am proud to support the Steve Prescott Foundation as I have seen how much of an impact the cause helps people and how influential and inspiring his story is to so many.''
Many thanks to your dedication and welcome to #TeamPrecky guys.
