Thank you to all who made the 10k Run Extra Special.

The GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run took place on Sunday 9th March at the home of St Helens RFC Langtree Park Stadium.

1834 Runners signed up for the main 10k Race with 205 Fun Runners for the 2k Fun.

Martin Blondel from the Steve Prescott Foundation said "The GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run was the first major event since the passing of Steve Prescott MBE. It was an emotional event for all concerned. The atmosphere was incredible, a perfect celebration of Steve's life. Along with the announcement the week before of the Steve Prescott Man of Steel Award, the support from the Rugby League and St Helens community along with the great work of the 16 SPF Ambassadors reinforces Steve's wish for the Charity to continue to inspire and support those less fortunate than ourselves.

Martin continued "We believe that the 10k Run will raise in excess of £50,000 for the SPF Charity and thousands more for the other charities involved. It is now a permanent fixture in the St Helens calendar. With Steve's guidance, we now have a run that will match if not better any 10k Run in the country. The SPF are proud to be able to put on a run of this stature but we cannot do it alone and we have the support of so many people and organisations, who are all committed to maintain the phenomenal progression of the 10k Run! By the end of this week, the public will be able to take advantage of our early bird special and sign up for next years run."

I Secure - Provided 34 Stewards who made sure the route was secure for all runners. They were excellent and provided a far better service than in previous years.

St Johns Ambulance - There expertise was invaluable in extreme conditions.

Timpsons - Provided Medals for all winners free of charge along with medals for 2k and commerative 

Elite Industrial - Provided all runners with top class Technical T Shirts at cost price.

Run Geek - Supplied vouchers to all participants and North Road Survivor hoodies!

Kick PA - Provided PA System which hugely assisted for the start of the race.

TQ Sports provided the warm up for both the fun run and main race!
