AJ Mussell, family and friends will cycle 215 miles from Rainford Village to London on Saturday 23rd April and then run 26.2 miles round the streets of London on the 24th April in the London Marathon.
AJ said, "My Mum has suffered from Cancer twice. In 2012 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and in 2014 she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The journey wasn't straight forward but I am happy to say that she has been fortunate to come out of the other side, not least thanks to the help of the Macmillan Cancer support nurses.
Since my mum has suffered from cancer twice and this will be the second time I will have ran the London Marathon I decided to do things a little differently.
In recent years I have seen the hard work and dedication by the volunteers of the Steve Prescott Foundation, volunteering and participating in many events myself and I have been truly inspired by Steve and the legacy he has left behind.
As Steve himself once said - "A challenge is not a challenge unless its challenging".
Therefore, not only will I be running in the London Marathon this year, but I have also decided that to get there I will cycle 215 miles from Rainford Village to London on Saturday 23rd April. I will be joined by a number of friends & family on the ride.
I will then run 26.2 miles round the streets of London on the 24th April.
It all seemed like a good idea at the time, now the training has started its clear its going to be tougher than first thought so your support is greatly appreciated."
