Craig Holland is a 24 year old from St. Helens and a massive Saints fan. He has just starting out as a Rugby League referee as he used to play and wanted to keep within the game. Throughout 2015 Craig ran a total of ten 10k runs in aid of Cancer Research UK.
His plans for 2016 is to set himself an even more impressive challenge and run a 10k at each of the locations of all the Super League teams and also in Newcastle the location of the Magic Weekend. He will be doing this in aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation as he lost his mum to cervical cancer when he was eleven years old. Craig says ' Steve is recognised over the rugby league family, I will do this to honour him'.
The dates for the 10k runs are:
- Huddersfield. 28th February.
- St. Helens. 6th March
- Salford. 25th March
- Wakefield, 3rd April
- Perpignan. 15th May
- Hull. 19th June
- Warrington. 26th June
- Great North10k. 3rd July
- Leeds.10th July
Widnes and Castleford will be set up in due course for park runs.
Craig hopes that the rugby league family will support him throughout the year.
Thank you Craig for choosing the SPF as your nominated charity. We will follow Craig's progress throughout 2016 and look forward to meeting him on the 6th March when he runs the GPW St Helens 10k.
