The SPF is really proud to have a representative running the prestigious Virgin Money London Marathon 2016 which takes place on Sunday 24th April.

Shaun Archer has been lucky enough to get a ballot place for the London Marathon and will be using the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for for the Steve Prescott Foundation. Shaun will no doubt be inspired by Precky as he pounds the streets of London in the knowledge that Precky himself completed the same course on three occasions.

Shaun is 32 years old and has been playing rugby league since I was 13. He says, 'I starting with Doncaster Toll Bar and have played the last 15 years with Bentley Good Companions ARLFC. I've had the pleasure of playing for Doncaster RLFC and had a brief spell with Hull FC Academy. I'm married with 3 daughters and live in Monk Bretton, Barnsley having recently moved from Doncaster. I've run a few obstacle races in the past such as survival of the fittest and the Spartan race series but nothing close to the distance of a marathon. I'm tipping the scales at 19 and a half stone at the minute so it should be a challenge!'
