On Friday 10th July 2015 three Saints fans Rob 'Rughead' Taylor, Bobby Taylor and Sam Thompson are embarking on a 30 mile journey, visiting five rugby league stadiums along the way. Starting at the DW stadium at 6am, they will call in at Leigh, Warrington and Widnes before finishing the charity walk at Langtree Park, St Helens around 6.30pm. Rob and Bobby are 3rd year university students and Sam is a trainee accountant. Rob says ‘We'd talked about doing something for charity and thought there was no better cause than the SPF considering our love for rugby, Saints in particular. We chose the route to feasibly call at the 5 local rugby grounds starting at the DW, the closest ground to home and finishing at Langtree Park, in time for the Huddersfield match. This worked out well considering our support for Saints! We planned the route using Google Maps, with the walking route working out at a nice round number, 30 miles.’ The itinerary is:-
- 06:00 DW Stadium -> Leigh Sports Village 9:00.
- 09:30 Leigh Sports Village -> Halliwell Jones Stadium 12:30
- 13:15 Halliwell Jones Stadium -> Select Security Stadium 15:45
- 16:15 Select Security Stadium -> Langtree Park 18:30
Massive thanks to Wigan Warriors, Leigh Centurions, Warrington Wolves, Widnes Vikings and St Helens for showing their support for the trio. Please look out for the walkers on the day and give them your full support. You can follow the guys on twitter (@SPCharityWalk) and donations can be made by JustGiving www.JustGiving.com/SPCharityWalk
