The challenge to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and play the world’s highest game of rugby league will take place in October in aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF). The two captains will soon be choosing their team from the group of 38 climbers including former players Lee Briers, Barrie McDermott, Garreth Carvell, Neil Harmon, Chico Jackson, Alan Hunte and Mike Wainwright. Also taking part are Sky Sports Angela Powers, Spectrum Group MD Neil Farrow and Harry Potter actor Matt Lewis. The rugby match will be refereed by International referee Robert Hicks. The climb will receive extensive media coverage including features on BBC TV.
The SPF can announce that Multiwork will be team sponsor for the side captained by Salford City Red’s International star Adrian Morley. The opposing side will be captained by former Leeds Rhino international Barrie McDermott.
Team sponsorship has been agreed with Multiwork, the first online community specifically for temporary workers. Multiwork supports its workers across all aspects of employment and keeps them in work.
George Skinner, Multiwork CEO said,
‘Multiwork is absolutely delighted to be sponsoring one of the teams taking part in the Guinness Book of World Record's attempt for the Highest Altitude Rugby League Match in October, captained by the legend that is Adrian Morley. The Steve Prescott Foundation is a fantastic cause and coupled with the Spectrum Kilimanjaro Challenge 2015 we hope that this mean feat does him proud. We wish all those taking part in the challenge and the match the very best of luck - let the game begin.”
