Steve Prescott Foundation Donates £50,000 to The Christie Charity
Ahead of the Christmas festivities, representatives from the Steve Prescott Foundation visited The Christie NHS Foundation Trust Cancer Hospital in Manchester to present a remarkable £50,000 donation, raised through the heroic efforts of our incredible supporters throughout 2025.
During the visit, the Foundation was warmly welcomed by long-standing friends and leading specialists Professor Sarah O’Dwyer and Consultant Clinical Oncologist Dr Mark Saunders, who shared exciting updates on their ground breaking collaboration with leading cancer hospitals in Barcelona and Milan. This international partnership is delivering significant progress in the fight against Pseudomyxoma.
Professor O’Dwyer spoke passionately about the future:
“There is a door opening in this field and it is really exciting.”
Steve Prescott’s oncologist, Dr Mark Saunders, reflected on Steve’s lasting impact:
“We probably wouldn’t be here without Steve, because he started it all off. Hopefully, if he is looking down on us, he would be thinking, ‘Great, I’ve done this — now hopefully someone in my position can do even better.’”
This powerful visit is captured in an in-depth video produced by SPF Ambassador Fraser Dainton, which we encourage everyone to watch.
This is why we continue the legacy of a truly great man. We know that the work being done is changing lives, offering hope, and bringing us ever closer to an end to cancer. None of this would be possible without the continued generosity and selflessness of our supporters.
Thank you to everyone at The Christie. Together, we will beat cancer.
