Prescott House, Stockwell Academy, East Hull donate £50 in memory of Steve Prescott

Elly Gay, KS2 Phase Leader of Stockwell Academy in East Hull contacted Linzi Prescott Trustee of the SPF recently.

Elly said ‘The winning house for each term donate a cheque for £50 to a charity linked with their house. The school house winners for the autumn term is Prescott House.’

Hull FC fan Mark Grasby completes the Hull Marathon 2017 raising £740 for the SPF

Congratulations to Hull FC supporter Mark Grasby, 44, who completed the RB Hull Marathon which took place on 24th September smashing his £500 target raising a fantastic £740 for the Steve Prescott Foundation.

Mark who is an Operations Director for an education provider took part in the marathon which finished at the KCOM stadium says.’ I love sport and fitness, but hate running. I read Steve Prescott’s book and felt humbled, and felt that I needed to help others and honour Steve.’

£2500 raised on the Prasonisi to Mandraki Extreme Challenge Walk 2017

Following on from their amazing Extreme Challenges in 2015 and 2016, Bradford Bulls fans Ben Moorhouse and Gaynor Thompson returned to Rhodes in August to beat their current record and rewrite history by completing the 70 mile (113km) East coast walk in ONE day.

They started at Midnight on Monday 7th August from the most southern point of the beautiful island at Prasonisi and walked to the finish line at the entrance to Mandraki Harbour. The route took in the historic Lindos Acropolis and the beautiful Afandou Beach.

Hotel Football Rugby League Grand Final event raises £2450 for the Steve Prescott Foundation

The Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) sends sincere thanks to Hotel Football, Manchester, for hosting a Q & A event in the Old Trafford Supporters Club bar facility with all proceeds going to the SPF. Guests included RL stars and SPF ambassadors Andy Gregory, (Widnes, Wigan, Warrington and Salford) and Adrian Morley (Leeds Rhinos, Sydney Roosters, Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils).  Paul Wood (Warrington Wolves) and Phil McKenzie (ex Widnes) also kindly gave their time and predictions ahead of the game. Compere for the event was Radio City presenter Connor Phillips.

Grand final charity walk sees handepay smash £10k fundraising target

Staff from Haydock-based Handepay used rugby league’s showpiece Grand Final to smash their £10,000 charity target set in May 2016 – seven months ahead of schedule. The Grand Final-themed sponsored walk helped them take their fundraising grand total for The Steve Prescott Foundation to £13,000 in just five months.

23 Handepay staff walked the 18 miles from their office to Old Trafford on Saturday to raise £5,500 – the equivalent of more than £300 per mile – before enjoying a well-deserved seat to watch Wigan Warriors take the Super League title, with hospitality provided by Hotel Football.
