Family and friends who wish to pay their respects to a beautiful, sensitive and caring man will be lacing up their trainers in memory of Stephen Smee.
Ste, who sadly passed away on 21st October 2025, was a passionate supporter of The Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF). Thanks to the incredible generosity and strength shown by his wife Lusu, it has been agreed that a 20 strong team will take part in this year’s GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run.
In addition, two children – including Ste and Lusu’s daughter Grace – will take part in the Junior 2k Run on 28th February, the day before the 10k. All funds raised will go directly to the event organisers, The Steve Prescott Foundation.
The Chairman of the SPF and lifelong friend of Ste, Adrian Cunliffe said:
“We are all still devastated that Ste is no longer with us. The bravery and courage that Lusu has shown, despite her grief, is truly inspiring.
In true Steve Prescott style, this team is overcoming adversity and making a difference – exactly what Ste would have wanted.
The 10k brings all aspects of life together, and it is the perfect way to honour Ste. The SPF are extremely grateful to the Smee family and to everyone who will be putting on their running shoes and tackling North Road in his memory.”
