The Steve Prescott Foundation is delighted to announce that Sir Kevin Sinfield, Mickey Higham, Adam Fogerty and Super Bennie Westwood will all be taking part in the PSD Vehicle Rental SPF Celeb Bowls, in association with Barton’s Pickles, on Saturday 8th August at the Unison/NALGO Club, St Helens.

The four latest additions bring together an extraordinary group of individuals from the worlds of Rugby League, film and television, each with their own unique story and connection to sport, charity and the values of the Steve Prescott Foundation.

SIR KEVIN SINFIELD

Leading the latest announcements is one of the most inspirational figures in British sport, Sir Kevin Sinfield.

The Rugby League legend and renowned fundraiser will take to the bowling green and give one lucky winning bidder the unique opportunity to play alongside him.

Sir Kevin’s incredible fundraising efforts and unwavering support for his great friend Rob Burrow and the Motor Neurone Disease community have inspired millions of people.

In recognition of Sir Kevin’s phenomenal commitment to the MND community, all proceeds from the winning bid to play alongside Sir Kevin will be split 50/50 between the Steve Prescott Foundation and Motor Neurone Disease causes.

The opening bid is £300, with bidding ending at 7pm on Monday 20th July.

This is a truly unique opportunity to play alongside one of the most respected and inspirational sporting figures in the country while raising vital funds for two fantastic causes.

MICKEY HIGHAM

We are incredibly proud to welcome former Super League star Mickey Higham to this year’s event.

Mickey was first diagnosed with melanoma cancer in 2022 and has fought bravely against the disease ever since.

He is receiving excellent pioneering treatment at SPF beneficiaries The Christie Hospital and is also being supported by our other beneficiaries, the Seriously Injured Players Fund through Rugby League Cares.

It is fantastic to see Mickey looking so well and attending the PSD Vehicle Rental SPF Celeb Bowls.

Mickey’s courage, determination and positivity throughout his cancer journey have been inspirational, and everyone connected with the Steve Prescott Foundation is delighted that he will be joining us on 8th August.

Having Mickey involved will make the occasion even more special and provides another reminder of exactly why the fundraising work of the Steve Prescott Foundation and the support provided by our beneficiaries is so important.

ADAM FOGERTY

Also joining the fantastic line-up is former professional Rugby League player, actor and businessman Adam Fogerty.

Adam enjoyed a career in Rugby League before moving into acting, where he became well known for his role as Gorgeous George in the iconic British film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Adam has appeared in numerous films and television programmes throughout his career and is also famously remembered by Coronation Street fans for hitting Weatherfield legend Jack Duckworth in the face during one of his appearances on the long-running soap.

A huge character with a fantastic sporting and entertainment background, Adam will be a brilliant addition to the PSD Vehicle Rental SPF Celeb Bowls.

One lucky winning bidder will have the opportunity to play alongside Adam and enjoy what promises to be a memorable afternoon of bowls, entertainment and fundraising.

SUPER BENNIE WESTWOOD

Completing this latest group of announcements is Warrington Wolves legend and great SPF Ambassador, Super Bennie Westwood.

Bennie enjoyed an outstanding Rugby League career, becoming a firm favourite with the Warrington Wolves supporters through his uncompromising playing style, tremendous work ethic and commitment every time he pulled on the shirt.

Away from the Rugby League field, Bennie has been a fantastic supporter of the Steve Prescott Foundation and is a great SPF Ambassador who continues to support the charity and the legacy of Steve Prescott MBE.

We are delighted that Super Bennie will once again be supporting the Foundation by taking part in this year’s Celebrity Bowls.

One lucky winning bidder will have the unique opportunity to play alongside Bennie and enjoy a fantastic afternoon with one of the great characters of Rugby League.
