Reason to "Race across Europe":

I raced for over 25 years with numerous wins in mostly 10 and 25 mile Time Trials . Then in 1993 after being made redundant from the Prudential; I decided to go back into Higher Education.  Firstly at Halton College and then onto Liverpool Hope Universty where I graduated with a Combined honours degree in Sports Science and Psychology in 1997. I continued racing after Uni but started coaching other riders and gradually moved over to the coaching side.  I have been coaching for the last 14 years and love the buzz when one of my riders gets a win or a PB.

I have been a life long fan of Saints

I knew of Precky but only met him when I started working at Thatto Cycles. He had his bikes prepared by Paul at Thatto and Paul introduced me to him when he was planning the early stages of Tour de Yorkshire to see about coaching him.  Sadly, that never happened.

When the opportunity came for me to take part in the Tour de Yorkshire for the SPF, I jumped at the chance.  I still believe it was one of the most challenging things I have ever done on a bike.

In 2017 I was asked to lead a group of 15 riders on Whitey' s LeJog.  A 950 mile cycle ride from Lands End to John O Groats. This was another fantastic and rewarding challenge for a great guy.  I made some life long friends during this ride.  Hopefully the same will happen on our Race Across Europe. Again this is going to be a huge challenge: but they have to be in order to carry on Precky’s legacy.  I can't wait.

What are you most looking forward to:

I am most looking forward to the logistic side of the challenge and working together as a team to hopefully set a new record.

What are you least looking forward to:

I have thought long and hard about this question but there is nothing I am not looking forward to, it is going be amazing for a great cause.
