Bartons Pickles Johnny Vegas Celeb Bowls 2021

The Steve Prescott Foundation, along with Woolyback productions, are elated to announce that the Barton’s Pickles Johnny Vegas Celeb Bowls, for the Lol Pennington Memorial Cup, will once again take place at Ruskin Leisure St Helens on Sunday August 8th 12 noon until 9pm.

16 Celebrities from the world of showbiz and rugby league, will team up with members of the public (who will bid to play with their favourite celebrity via a Twitter Auction that will start via @StevePrescott1 twitter account. Each celebrity will be auctioned off over a four day period with the highest public bidder getting the chance to play with the Celeb and received a signed framed pic along with the opportunity to win the coveted Lol Pennington Cup.

The Barton’s Pickles JV Celeb Bowls is a free to enter event with family fun for all. A donation on entry will go towards The Steve Prescott Foundation.

So far the celebs who have volunteered to take part and have been auctioned are Sky Sports rugby league commentator Barrie McDermott, St Helens RFC legend Louie McCarthy Scarsbrook, the amazing actress Sian Gibson and State of Mind ambassador Danny Sculthorpe. Altogether the bids for the four personalities have amassed an incredible £1402

The next set of four who are available to bid on are, the man himself, Johnny Vegas with a current bid of £1500, Tommy Makinson who is currently serving a well deserved testimonial, current bid at £250, Saints Womens Captain and RLWC ambassador Jodie Cunningham, current bid at £500 and Saints Australian import Joel Thompson who is currently at £250. Bidding for this foursome ends on Sunday 8pm.

The next four Celebs to be announced are Legends of Rugby League, Football and Showbiz and they will be announced on Sunday morning.

Johnny Vegas Bartons Bowls 2021We are elated to announce that, thanks to St Helens based company Glassbond Moulding Compounds Limited and Taylors Bowls, all participants will receive a new set of Crown Green bowls to keep as a momento of the day, the bowls will be signed by their celebrity partner on the day.

Also thanks to great SPF sponsors, Creative Concrete, all participants will also receive a Barton Pickles Johnny Vegas Celeb Bowls t-shirt to wear on the day.

We can promise the general public that this will be a family fun filled day with plenty of entertainment for all.

We have the fantastic Ultimate Party People and Ponts Fun Fair to entertain the children, the fantastic Ukulele Band will provide a carnival atmosphere whilst the bowls are in play. The after bowls party staged at Sticky Wicket from 17.30 will have St Helens finest musical talent on show, the mercurial Jack Bennett and the phenomenal Marble Eyes.

Back by popular demand is the World's Best TV Presenter Hacker T Dog who will be doing a "takeover" of the Steve Prescott Foundation Facebook page.

  • We have stall pitches available at £20 a pitch.
  • We are currently working alongside St Helens Council to make the event as safe as possible in the current climate.
  • We strongly advise all participants and attendees to take a Lateral Flow Test beforehand.
  • We also strongly advise for people to bring and wear a face masks if they find themselves in an enclosed area.
  • We will be supplying hand sanitizer in numerous places on site at Ruskin Leisure.
  • Anybody who is COVID positive must stay at home and isolate.
  • If a celebrity,  for any reason, has to self isolate due to COVID 19 we will replace with a suitable replacement.
  • We will be making regular announcements on Social Media.
