On the 15th December, we the SPF were honoured to play a small part in supporting Team Chocolate Orange set up by one of the nicest gentleman Chris Lamb who you will ever meet!

Choc Orange day was inspired by the passing of his son Elliot who sadly passed away at the tender age of Four.

Chris gave the staff a few Choc oranges as a thank you for their care of Elliott, a few nurses did not manage to receive an orange and were a bit disappointed, Chris being Chris went back with more and the following year he organised Team Chocolate Orange day and it has snowballed into a phenomenon.

With our ambassador Martin Murray and trustee Linzi Prescott we agreed to help Chris spread the word and make a difference.

We delivered 1500 Oranges to Hospitals/Ward’s that had cared for Steve and Martin and Paul Sculthorpe’s children.

It was one of the most humbling experiences of our lives, a small gesture brought smiles to so many and every place we visited commented on the great man’s bravery and legacy which was really moving to us all.

We cannot thank the people who donated and the legend that is Chris Lamb for making this happen.

We promise as a foundation to make this even bigger and better next year and show our heroic NHS staff that we appreciate their Herculean efforts.
