Registration is now open for the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k run 2017 which takes place on Sunday 5th March. The event is open for runners age 16 and over.
The 7th annual St Helens 10k starts and finishes at Langtree Park with runners taking on the testing North Road on the way.
Registration for the event has already passed 675 entries – FIVE times more entries than this time last year - thanks to the fantastic work of race sponsors GPW Recruitment. Last year a capacity 2000 runners took part in the 10k run including representatives from 15 running clubs. Many novice runners target the 10k as a goal to enhance personal fitness. Many runners are inspired by Steve Prescott and his mantra “What the mind believes the body achieves”. It is hoped that runners will not only enter the event but also raise funds and awareness of the Steve Prescott Foundation.
Event organiser Martin Blondel of the SPF says, ‘The GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k is our flagship event and one we are incredibly proud of! We launched an early bird entry which has a phenomenal take up! Over the next few weeks we will be announcing a number of couch to 10k courses with our partners GymBUG and St Helens Youth Sports Development. There will be no excuses for anyone not to take part! We are elated the 10k will be the main focal point of people in the St Helens borough to improve their health and well being, which is exactly what the great man wanted.’
Associate sponsors are gymBUG of St Helens are donating prestigious Gymbug passes to the first three finishers in the open St Helens 10k race for ladies and gents.
