Saturday 8th October sees the biggest day in the rugby league calendar when the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford hosts the Super League Grand Final in front of over 70k supporters.

A group of walkers from Handepay are walking 18 miles from Haydock to Old Trafford to raise funds for the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF). The walk will also be used as a training session for some of the SPF Everest  party who set off 8 days later to climb to Nepal Everest Base Camp and then continue to "Kala Pattar" to reach a finishing height of 5645 meters above sea level.

The Steve Prescott Foundation and the St Helens Star are delighted to confirm that the Solarking Commercial Pride of St Helens will take place on Friday 11th November at Langtree Park.

The event is a celebration of the local community and a chance to award the champions of St Helens.  Nominations are made by residents to acknowledge and reward the outstanding citizens of the town. There are so many amazing people who do amazing things and this is the chance to nominate someone special and those who inspire others to live and work in a better community.

The second St Helens Triathlon sponsored by Tabern Property Consultants in association with bocboc of St Helens took place on Sunday 25th September.  It was Steve Prescott's wish to make this event happen so it was a real privilege to have everyone working together to make the event a huge success and raise awareness of the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF). 200 participants from all over the UK took part.

The stars were out at the weekend to support Emmerdale actor Michael Parr as he hosted a fund raiser for the Steve Prescott Foundation at the Virgin Money Lounge, King Street, Manchester. A really impressive £2500 was raised towards Mike’s fund for his Spectrum Everest Basecamp Challenge.  Mike is one of a party of 40 climbers who set off for Mount Everest on 13th October. The group will arrive in Kathmandu and then face a gruelling eleven day trek to Nepal Everest Base Camp and then continue to "Kala Pattar" to reach a finishing height of 5645 meters.

The Steve Prescott Foundation is delighted to announce an association with GymBUG St Helens as they support two of the SPF flag ship events, the St Helens 10k and the St Helens Triathlon.

GymBUG are also supporting Linzi Prescott and her son Taylor by offering free membership with personal training from Mark Hunt as they prepare for the Spectrum Everest Basecamp Challenge. SPF trustee Linzi and  Taylor are part of a 40 strong party who set off in October on an eleven day climbing expedition. In their quest to achieve peak fitness for the event Linzi and Taylor have  the full support of Mark and the GymBUG facilities. Mark is also the Health and Wellbeing correspondent for the St Helens Star.
