Mark Milsom, a lifelong Wakefield Trinity Wildcats nut, is being inspired by Steve Prescott’s incredible feats and now has a challenge of his own.

Mark, 54, who lives in Beverley, has not even sat on a road bike for over 40 years, and has only owned his own bike for the last 6 weeks! Mark and fellow Altisidora employee Sam Latham, and his father Tony, are joining Mark as they travel from the KC Stadium Hull leaving on 29th April then on to Belle Vue, Wakefield and aim to arrive at Langtree Park on Friday 1st May for the Super League clash between Saints and Wakefield to enjoy the game....hopefully! They will visit all three of Steve's Super League clubs.

On 13th and 14th June the Steve Prescott Foundation will be taking up their latest challenge, cycling from Arighi Bianchi in Macclesfield to the famous Cat & Fiddle pub in Buxton 22 times, equivalent to cycling the distance to the summit of Everest.

As a comparison with the 2014 Tour De Yorkshire which was 225 miles over 2 days equivalent to approximately 19,000 feet of climbing. The Arighi Bianchi Everest Challenge is 336 miles over 2 days equivalent to approximately 29,000 feet of climbing.

Supported by Hope Construction and Arighi Bianchi, this latest challenge is in true Steve Prescott style and is led by Steve’s brother Neil, former St Helens RFC player and current GB Duathlete Steve Hall and the inspirational cancer survivor Karen Jarvis.

Here is Karen’s incredible story:-

St Helens take on Hull FC on Monday 5th April in the Easter Monday fixture kick off 1500.

The teams will contest the first leg of the annual Steve Prescott Cup, the return fixture being on 22nd May. This is the second year of the competition and eagerly anticipated by both clubs, the Prescott family and the Steve Prescott Foundation. Saints are the current holders of the cup winning 46 - 41 on aggregate in 2014.

On the 3rd April 2015, we both fly out to Morocco to take on 'the worlds toughest footrace' !! It consists of 152 miles of running in 6 days (which includes a day off!), across the Sahara Desert. We will be fully self-sufficient for the 6 days, carrying everything we need including 6 days food, sleeping bags, medical equipment..etc, in temperatures of 50*c+ !!

We are doing this for the Steve Prescott Foundation, in memory of our good friend Steve Prescott MBE. Precky always lived by the saying 'the body achieves what the mind believes'...and what better way to prove this than in one of the most brutal of challenges...pushing our bodies (& minds!) to the limit...but if one man can inspire us to do this, it is Steve. Unfortunately Steve passed away in November 2013 after major transplant surgery, but inspired so many people in his 39 years, and continues to do so through his foundation.
