Tecmark team set to tackle Survival of the Fittest

Tecmark team set to tackle Survival of the Fittest

Nine Tecmark staff are preparing for Manchester’s ‘Survival of the Fittest’ event next month in an attempt to raise further funds for the Steve Prescott Foundation.

Kate Madigan, Richard Bannister, Simon Mo, Sahida Aarndell, John Matthews, Theodore Watt, Rob Weatherhead, Mike Wainwright and Jordan Yates will tackle the 10km course that includes a number of obstacles designed to push competitors to their limits.

Kate Madigan said: “I’ve never done an obstacle course before and I don’t think any of the other participants have. I’ve done plenty of running races, but this is going to be a whole different beast.

“It will be funny seeing us all getting muddy and clambering over stuff, but I’m dreading – absolutely dreading – the freezing cold water you have to get in.”

The Steve Prescott Foundation supports the Christie Hospital in Manchester and rugby league’s Try Assist – a fund designed to help players whose lives are affected by serious injuries.

The event will cap a particularly demanding period for account manager Mike Wainwright, who has only recently returned with managing director Richard Heyes from a trip to Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

The pair’s efforts in Africa raised almost £9,500 for the Steve Prescott Foundation.
